Tracking everything definitely makes me aware of what foods contain the macros I need/don’t need more of in the day. Just having the awareness of how much fat/protein/carbs are in foods has been really helpful - so that now, even on the days I haven’t been able to track, I have an idea about how the rest of the day should probably look if I’ve just done a big meal or dessert date with friends. I’ve always looked at food as a compromise/balance; I just have more awareness and knowledge to work with now. Thank you."

There are three big things I've really tuned into since I started working with you.  The first one is portion sizes and how they add up in terms of your macros. I can now look at a food and be pretty close to the weight or volume of the food.  This helps me when I'm out and can't exactly measure my foods.
The second is balance. If I want to have some drinks,  or go out for dessert, I now have the knowledge so I can easily adjust my day so that I can still keep my day close to my targets,  and have a treat.
The other is, as you put it,  having a short memory on days that aren't great days.  I no longer dwell on the days that I over eat out under eat.  They happen, and I don't beat myself up, I just move on and try for more good days."

"The biggest change/learning for me is a healthier sense of balance with my macros and eating. The refeed days were HUGE for me, and learning to not fear the carbs when it comes to cutting weight!! That little shift in fat/carb targets at certain times of the month was really great too. Ultimately, it's been awesome working with a responsive and supportive coach vs. going it alone with templates.”

Anyways, thanks for putting on this program and the guidance you provided each week.  I never dreamed of being the same weight again as I was when I graduated from high school!  Following your program made it easy to lose weight.”

I’ve actually never dieted and my weight has always fluctuated about 10-20 pounds since I was a teenager. After having my second child I was having a hard time getting the weight off by going to the gym alone (something I’d always done) and decided to track start tracking my macros. Then the challenge came along and I figured, “why not?!”

By focusing on the “right foods” to fuel my body, I realized I was able to eat ALOT of food while still being in a caloric deficit."

I would say the biggest thing was getting my fat intake under control. That has absolutely plummeted."

I can't believe the change my body has gone through (27lbs lost) and how different my relationship with food is. I like problem solving so trying to figure out my numbers is fun for me in a weird sort of way."

Before:
Hours of endurance training 5 days a week (2-3 hours on a typical day between swimming, bike and running and 2 to 3 times weight training per week. )
Diet was carbohydrate based. Little to no meat. Lower in protein most days. No tracking and never realizing what I consumed. Although I always ate healthy I most likely never gave my body what it truly needed.

Now:
Run once a week with a couple mini high intensity sessions if time permits.
I’ve reintroduced meat and fish to my diet. Better understanding of macros and how my body reacts (physically and mentally) to the right breakdown of macros. Realized how snacking can negatively impact my overall daily calories (mindless eating). Biggest impact was numerous people telling me I wouldn’t be as strong at a lower weight which in fact was completely wrong. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been and about to turn 43!"

I have always been physically active growing up, but I have never specifically watched my food intake or tracked any sort of performance gains.  Marc first came to me with the idea of beginning to track my food intake and he would help me achieve greater performance gains with his instruction.  I was skeptical of this at first because I already thought I was fit and in shape and how much could he really help...Well I was extremely wrong. With Marc behind me I was soon recovering fully after the hardest of workouts and having little to no soreness days later.  I also began to see my performance sky rocket, it honestly surprised me. My squat went from 275lbs to 360lbs in about a year while my weight went down around 8 pounds. When I started I was happy with the way I looked and in no way thought I was fat, however with Marc's guidance I soon lost any extra pounds and inches I had and was much happier with how lean and muscular I was looking.

So in conclusion, I was always a doubter of tracking food intake and having a coach set a specific plan for you, but I am now a believer that if you want to take your training to the next level this is the way to go or even if you just want to make the best out of every training session I would definitely recommend Marc's services."
